The 40th Annual Athletics Meet
The 40th Annual Athletics Meet of Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No.2 took place over two consecutive days on October 5 and 6 at the Aberdeen Sports Ground. At the opening ceremony, Principal Lai drew upon the outstanding performances of Hong Kong athletes at the Asian Games to encourage students, emphasizing that as long as they hold onto their beliefs and dare to try, they can surely break through their limits and unlock infinite possibilities.
On the field, athletes from the four Houses gave their all, demonstrating an unyielding spirit of sportsmanship. In the Inter-House Cheering Squad Competition held the following day, teams from each House put on a full-strength performance, electrifying the atmosphere. Ultimately, Leo House clinched the Cheering Squad Championship with a spectacular performance.
We were honored to welcome Dr. LOUIE Hung Tak, Lobo, MH, Senior Lecturer and Associate Head of the Department of Health and Physical Education at The Education University of Hong Kong, to serve as the officiating and award presentation guest. In his speech, Dr. Louie shared that the sports ground is a classroom without walls, providing a space for everyone to "learn together, appreciate together, and respect together." Dr. Louie encouraged students to uphold the Olympic spirit. He emphasized that while pursuing excellence, they should also learn to build friendships, respect one another, and work in unity, bringing this positive energy into the community in the future to become a driving force for social progress.
After two days of intense competition, Gregory House, relying on the prominent performance of its members across multiple events, was crowned the Inter-House Overall Champion of this Athletics Meet. Their outstanding results are well-deserved and a true testament to their hard work.
