Do you know that Cantonese is a tonal language? The word “mother” and “grandmother” can only be differentiate by their different tones? Even native Cantonese speakers sometimes mix the two words up when they don’t speak clearly, no wonder second language learners find it hard to master the language. In view of that, the school organised a Cantonese Pinyin Workshop in October and November to help non-Chinese students to learn Cantonese interactively.

愛「拼」才會「正」──「粵語拼音工作坊」

媽媽變嬷嬷，聲調不分清。香港學生儘管土生土長，說話也時有懶音，何況非華語同學語言背景迥異，說起廣東語來，荒腔跌調，更屬常事。有見及此，十月至十一月舉行「粵拼音工作坊(初階)」，導師寓教於樂，以問答遊戲方式使非華語同學逐步掌握拼音，讀「正」粵語。
