YCK2 Walkathon
Our Annual Walkathon, organized by the Parent-Teacher Association, was held successfully on 12th January, 2018, a bright and sunny day extremely suitable for the activity.
We were honoured to have invited Mr. Yu Ho-lam, member of the school sponsoring family, Mr. Chu Fu-yau and Mr. Fung Suk-kai, Supervisor and Principal of Catholic Mission School (CMS), Mr. Yu Yuen-mau, School Alumni Manager, Ms Lok Wai-ying, Police School Liaison Officer(Western District) and Mr. Lo Kar-yue, Vice Chairman of Chi Fu Fa Yuen Residents Association to officiate at the Kick-off Ceremony.
Vice-Principal Mr. Shum first led a prayer followed by a speech given by Mr. Wong Chi-keung, Chairman of PTA. In his speech, Mr. Wong thanked the students, parents and teachers who made this walkathon a success. Then prizes were presented to the individual and class winners. Finally, Principal Li gave a speech stressing that YCK2 is the second home of students and the walkathon helped to make this home better.
After a series of cracking sound, the walkathon started. Students and teachers walk along Chi Fu Road and then uphill to the service reservoir and return to school in about 1.5 hours. When they arrived at school, they could see and buy different kinds of snacks from the food stalls which had been set up in the covered playground. The income of the stalls would all go to the walkathon.
Besides the delicious snacks, students could also watch the Teacher-Student basketball and dodgeball matches. In the song dedication activity, they can also hear the beautiful voice of Principal Li.
The walkathon ended happily at about 12 noon.
